RAVINE VINEYARD EDITORIAL // PAOLO MANRIQUE PHOTOGRAPHY

For this romantic autumn-inspired bridal editorial at Ravine Vineyard, Amanda Cowley and Paolo Manrique wanted to keep things autumnal and rich, yet fresh and light. They wanted to create a feminine vineyard romance to inspire future brides who seek a similar style and look for the season. A look and vibe that Vineyard Bride's followers would resonate with. Ooh La La Designs created harmonically beautiful arrangements infused with autumnal, feminine, and classic florals to anchor the team's vision on the day of the shoot. While the bride was graced in a wedding gown from Second Dance Bridal with a minimalist flair, that still screamed grand and alluring.

Ravine Vineyard is in the heart of Ontario Wine Country at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. In order to encapsulate and highlight Ravine's natural landscape and unique charms from the season, we used the vineyard as our main backdrop and the event space balcony which overlooked the vines and rolling landscape. When designing the shoot, we wanted to ensure we kept things realistic and feasible for couples to take inspiration and recreate similar arrangements and looks for their own wedding. From the table setting to the ceremony design and locations on Ravine's property, everything was thought out and put in place with intention. The floral arch at the ceremony location was anchored to the posts that line the vines, and we were sure to make use of the lovely tables and chairs Ravine offers their clients.

Paolo Manrique challenged himself to create editorial imagery with his bold attempt at using one of Ravine's modern architectural building designs as a backdrop for some bridal portraits; intricately playing with composition, posing, light, and shadows. It was windy on-and-off on the day of the shoot, which gave some of the bridal portraits that extra oomph. For example, the wind blowing the hair and the ribbons on the bouquet. Paolo Manrique simply adjusted and went in the direction with his photography where the wind blew. On the other hand, it proved very difficult for us to light the candles on the tablescape no matter what we tried. Sometimes things just don't go as planned and we simply rolled with it.

As the day came to a close we seized the remaining moments we had at Ravine by focusing our energy on the bridal details. Not part of our original set-up and schedule, the end result reinforces the simplistic, ethereal vibes we were going for throughout the shoot, whilst emphasizing what Ravine has to offer. We feel that the photos depict a story unfolding of a bride getting ready overlooking the rolling landscape of the vines, and nothing is more Niagara than that.
