ROSY + MIKE // LISA VIGLIOTTA PHOTOGRAPHY

In honour and celebration of Black History Month, we are focusing all of our blog sharing for the month of February on the beauty of BIPOC couples and weddings! We are so lucky to have a beautiful selection of inspiration to share with our readers and our hope is to pair that inspiration along with Black History messaging in order to use our Vineyard Bride platform positively and responsibly.

The next feature in our Black History Month series is this gorgeous wedding from Lisa Vigliotta Photography. Choosing to celebrate at Chateau des Charmes in the heart of Niagara Wine Country, Rosy and Mike created an intimate atmosphere that showcased their love!

We were able to chat with Rosy and Mike a little bit more about their love story.

How did you meet? We met at church. We both were looking for a new church and happened to start attending the same one even though it was a long commute for the one. It took years in the making but once we met within weeks we knew this one was different.

How long have you been together? 1 year and 2 months.

Tell us about your engagement story. This is a long one but oh so good. Mike planned a series of clues and had multiple friends in on the plan. Starting with a YouTube video link on a paper handed to me at a restaurant which revealed he was kidnapped. I was followed around by a videographer as I traveled from site to site unraveling clues and bumping into friends along the way. At the final destination of Edwards Gardens, with music playing, standing amongst candles and flowers, he dropped to one knee and sealed our engagement.

Tell us about your wedding day plans. We had a lovely wedding in Niagara on the Lake area. We had our ceremony in a beautiful barn and our reception in a tent at Chateau Des Charmes with our closest family and friends.

Did you experience any discrimination because you are an interracial or black couple while you were wedding planning? None.
