TORERA + BUNMI // F10 STUDIO

In honour and celebration of Black History Month, we are focusing all of our blog sharing for the month of February on the beauty of BIPOC couples and weddings! We are so lucky to have a beautiful selection of inspiration to share with our readers and our hope is to pair that inspiration along with Black History messaging in order to use our Vineyard Bride platform positively and responsibly.

The next feature in our Black History Month series is this gorgeous wedding from F10 Studio. Read on to learn more about Torera and Bunmi’s love story.

Where are you from? We are both from Toronto, Ontario.

Do you mind sharing a bit of your love story and how you started your journey together? Torera: A friend invited me to celebrate New Year’s festivities in Toronto. She informed me that she was meeting a friend briefly in the restaurant at the hotel before we headed out for the night. I was running a little behind and planned on joining them some minutes later. Little to my knowledge the friend was not alone, and I noticed Bunmi sitting next to them. I was taken aback by this attractive guy who shook my hand and introduced himself. Bunmi’s wide grin and charm certainly had me flustered. But in no time, I was comfortable around him as we talked and talked the night away. I found myself interested in everything Bunmi had to say as we had so much in common. Our love for travelling had us talking about all the places we’ve visited. He shared some stories about his travels and his few years of living in China. Since that day we continued to communicate, go on dates and spend time together.

What was your vision for your wedding day? Our vision for our wedding was classy and elegant.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme or colour scheme? White décor and white florals with a hint of green and gold accents.

Can you describe the wedding ceremony and any special traditions or rituals you included? The wedding ceremony was very intimate, and we had a violinist and saxophonist play some hymns/wedding songs.

What were your favourite moments from your wedding day? Our favourite moments from our wedding day were our vows, the first dance, the bride and father dance, the groom and mother dance and the after party where our guests and families could dance and have fun.

Can you describe your wedding dress and suit? How did you choose your wedding attire? Torera: My wedding dress was simple. It was an A-line dress that was off the shoulder and Bunmi’s attire was a dark navy blue tuxedo with a black bow tie. Our vision was to have a simple but classy look.

How did you choose your wedding venue? What made it special to you? We chose our venue because it worked well with the vision that we had as Hazelton Manor has a royal ambience to it with high ceilings and gorgeous chandeliers. We knew this was the venue for us the first time we saw it.

What did you look forward to the most on your wedding day? We honestly looked forward to sharing our special day with all our friends and families who travelled far and wide to come celebrate our special day together. Every moment was so special to us and it was really beautiful to see months of planning come to fruition.
