Hey Crystal! Could you give us a short description of your business? A different kind of wedding adventure. Creative, collaborative and memorable Wedding & Event Planning & Design.

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?  15+ years

What makes your business unique? Our passion is telling the story of you. Our collaborative partners work closely together to design weddings that are unique, memorable and celebrate your story. We only offer full planning options as we want to truly get to know our couples and celebrate their once-in-a-lifetime like no other.

Favourite part of your business? Carte Blanche weddings happen to be our favourite. Perfect for the busy professional or laid back lovelies who want to set the scene, give us a budget and let us make the magic happen! It's collaborate, creative and allows our couples to enjoy their big day with the same sense of awe and pleasure as their guests.

What inspires you? Travel. People. Typically another deemed not "wedding". It could be incredible architecture, nature, a couples favourite food or something from the fashion world. We get excited exploring with you and getting to the core of what makes you tick to inspire us.

Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? I am absolutely drawn to wedding & event designers abroad right now - Dubai, Thailand and Hong Kong are truly making the impossible possible and opening up creative wedding ideas and inspiration.

On your day off...where would we find you? A vintage record shop surfing for new vinyl. Picking up the latest obscure read (especially if it's filled with intrigue or humour). Surfing on some windswept beach or catching a flight to somewhere you're secretly wishing you would just elope to!

If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? Writer (which I also am)! I am inspired by stories that shape our lives. Whether it's sharing my own or telling someone else's, I have always been inspired by the crafting of language and tales that shape who we are, what we know and who we may become. Pretty powerful legacy!

What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? Colour is BACK! Coloured rings. Coloured dresses. Florals in bright hues. It's impactful and celebratory! I'm also loving Chefs who are pushing culinary boundaries and inspiring new takes on classics. Most importantly tho, we're seeing couples who are "doing it their way" and truly embracing the celebration as their own.

Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Hire a Planner seems too obvious so instead I'll say this - find someone who's creative energy matches your own and collaborate on a wedding that speaks to who you truly are. Be you - there is nobody in the world quite like you (which means there should never be a wedding quite like yours either).

Distinct Occasions' Instagram is absolutely stunning and we love following their wedding planning adventures! If you haven't already, also take a minute and check out their new website...we've been drooling over it since it launched a few months ago!
