A lovely story of the day as told by photographer Alisia of Scarlet Lens Photography,
Pier and Amar are what I like to call my “blind faith couple”. After seeing a post on Vineyard Bride of my work they reached out via email immediately. I met them for the first time for their engagement session in Toronto where we instantly hit it off.
Pier is a French-Canadian paediatrician and Amar an East Indian Canadian general practitioner, both currently practicing in Barrie, Ontario. The outdoor ceremony space was dripping with floral details, the stuff dreams are made of with bold rich colours of mustard yellow and burgundy present at every corner. Beyond the gorgeous backdrops, Pier and Amar and their guests were dressed in beautiful traditional garments and to top it all off Amar made a grand entrance into the ceremony on a handsome white horse. As Amar trotted through the pear orchard into the ceremony, his family danced to the beat of the drums and sang as loud as they could to announce his presence; I live for moments like these, where goosebumps appear all over my body and tears of joy emerge from the corners of my eyes.
The late afternoon sun fell behind the arbour where they spoke their vows creating the perfect dreamy effect to their photos. Pier & Amar’s ceremony was filled with traditions from both cultures — I have never been a part of a ceremony where 3 languages were spoken! Both families were so inviting and embraced everyone that was there. The love and laughter that filled the air on this day was something you needed to witness first hand. This will for sure go down in my books as one of my favourite weddings ever!
