DESTINATION WEDDING - HAWAII // PHILOSOPHY STUDIOS

We couldn’t think of any better escape from the current lockdown than to reminisce of past travel and adventures. Today we have the lovely Eva, owner of Vineyard Bride and Philosophy Studios sharing a beautiful Hawaiian destination wedding along with her thoughts and reflection on the past year.

If there is one thing we all can agree on, 2020 hit the wedding and event industry very hard, and it has created a ripple effect that we will see for some time; but we need to ride the wave where it takes us.

We wanted to take a little time to reflect on the positives of 2020 and how they can benefit our industry’s future.

We hope that many people took whatever downtime or change in schedule they may have had to really enjoy what is important to them in life. If 2020 and Covid-19 have taught us anything, it should be that life is short and needs to be treasured. Refocusing your wants from this one life we have to live and putting your energy into that is so important, now, more than ever.

As a business owner of both Vineyard Bride and Philosophy Studios, pivoting in times of crisis needs to be present in your business model or you will sink before you have the chance to swim. Knowing your industry and being able to adapt quickly is crucial, and if you do it well people will follow.

The trend for smaller intimate weddings was already on the horizon before the pandemic, and now they will be here for some time. The important thing is that weddings can still happen. You can still marry the love of your life and have the celebration you deserve. The scale of that may look much different than you have previously envisioned, but it can allow you to appreciate the little things, spend more time and detail on the elements of your day that are most important to you, and have the special day you long for.

So much love, gratitude, strength, and thanks go out to all of our front-line workers for putting their lives at risk for us. I hope the rest of society shows you the utmost appreciation for all you do and have done during this pandemic.

Here is to a brighter tomorrow, and the ability to travel again, very, very soon! Please enjoy this wedding my photography company, Philosophy Studios, was so lucky to photograph in Oahu, Hawaii.
