Happy thursday-help me give a warm welcome to Meagan from Weddings Tied with Lace.  You'll want to follow her instagram's really lovely! Meagan...tell us a little about what you do?  We plan and design remarkable weddings. We help you design the wedding you’ve been dreaming of. Whether you have big ideas in place or aren’t sure where to start, we’ll sit down with you to dig deep into the details to find out what makes you click as a couple. Of course we believe that every wedding should be beautiful, but we also believe it should be meaningful. We’re about simplicity, with a focus on experience over things.

How long have you been working in the wedding industry?  4 Years as a planner, over 10 years as a whole.

What makes your business unique?  We style our services a little differently than most wedding planners by offering a bespoke approach. Instead of offering different packages for you to choose from, we customize a service for each new client. After years of working with couples we realized the best way to service our clients is to offer them exactly the service they want and need instead of trying to fit each client to standard packages we already offer.

Favourite part of your business?  Design, and taking care of all the details to bring my clients vision to life.

What inspires you?  My design aesthetic tends to run on the romantic side. I love cozy spaces, lace and soft textures, and designs that are polished and classic. I also love to add just a bit of flair to delicate, muted designs. A little metallic, a hint of sparkle or even a punch of great colour can really pull a look together. While my eye tends to design a little more on the simple, understated side, my heart gravitates to the fun and whimsical twists we can add.

Who is your mentor/hero in the industry?  I don't have a specific mentor in the industry, but I do value community over competition and I have a great group of peers that I not only look up to but can say I have great friendships with as well.

On your day off...where would we find you?  Enjoying life with family and friends.

If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job?  If I wasn't a planner I would still be in the industry. If money was no object I would own and operate a boutique wedding venue for bespoke couples.

What great wedding trends are you seeing this year?  I love simplicity and neutrals so I'm so happy to see this is becoming a trend in the wedding industry this year. Natural/ wood pieces, lots of greens, garlands and organic floral arrangements are some of my favourite elements to design with.

Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding?  This day happens only once, enjoy the process, eat great food, drink just a little too much, spend time with your friends and family, and most importantly slow down and take it all in. You’ll spend a year planning this day that goes by so quickly so remember to take a moment and enjoy your hard work.
