This year we seriously considered the show from an attendees point of view, thinking long and hard about how we could amp up the involvement for our guests and provide them with The First Look show experience unlike before.
“When Jaime and I were planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to get married in Niagara-on-the-Lake: going to NOTL is a traditional for Jaime and I – somewhere we love to go so much, we call it our ‘happy place’.”
“We wanted to be inspired by the 60’s colourful vibe and bring it into this shoot through the decor and space. Small details like the macrame, and the colour palette within the florals and tabletop accents, added to the vintage vibe.”
An early evening this past June, under a beautiful pergola and as the sun was setting, Calliope and Jacob tied the knot with their two closest friends by their sides for an intimate weddingceremony. As these lovebirds sealed their love with the first kiss as husband and wife, two white doves were released marking the beginning of their new life chapter together.
“We had lots of friends and family fly over from the UK and elsewhere which meant a lot to us and we wanted to ensure that everyone knew how much we appreciated them making the trip so we wrote personalized notes to all of our guests and dropped them off in hotel rooms with bottles of Niagara sparkling wine to welcome them.”
Today's editorial feels like a lovely way to savour every moment of these fleeting summer days. The pastel palette, the gown, styling, and, pop of colour provided by the florals, all come together to make this a truly lovely feature. We are so in love with your work Verveine Studios!
We can’t get enough of this stunning wedding from earlier this season held at Stratus Vineyards, a state-of-the-art winery, in Niagara-on-the-Lake that was photographed by husband and wife team Jenny and Shane of Reed Photography.
It was a perfect autumn day when Andrea and Josh celebrated their love and began their happily ever after together. The two wed at Honsberger Estate Winery in Jordan, Ontario surrounded by close friends and family, and we are head over heels in love with this elegant rustic vineyard wedding from Melanie over at Lush Florals.
An early Spring day in 2017, Stefania and Alex celebrated their love with family and friends at Winona Vine Estates. Perfectly captured by Sounds Like Yellow Photography with planning and styling by Ooh La La Designs, the day was just as beautiful as the love these two have for each other.
The Hare Wine Co. is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's newest wineries, opening its doors in October 2016. It's industrial, but elegant architecture is unlike any other winery in the area. With repurposed materials used in the building of the winery, The Hare has an old European feel while still being a new experience people have yet to try.
We met Matt and Kimberly last week as we swooned over their cocktail reception at Ravine Vineyard, and now we are excited to share their elegant wedding day. Held at Château des Charmes and photographed by Philosophy Studios, Matt and Kimberly’s wedding was an affair to remember.
A beautiful summery day last June, Maggie and Brett exchanged “I dos” in rural Guelph, ON on a 150-acre family farm, with stunning photos by Artiese Studios and planning / styling by our very own Swish Lister - Laura Olsen.
Unwavering attention to detail makes my business unique. My style is full, fresh and natural with full service providing gorgeous flowers for the bride and her wedding party, the ceremony and the reception.
Jessica and Joe met at a Buffalo Bills game and hit it off instantly, but the catch, one lived in Buffalo and the other in Toronto. Distance did not stop these two lovebirds, as they traveled back and forth to Buffalo and Toronto to spend time with one another during the weekends, and on one flight together to Banff, Joe proposed to Jessica on top of a mountain.
“I find inspiration in likely and unlikely places. People, cultures, landscapes, organic elements, colours, words, authenticity. I love to be playful and juxtapose styles for a theme that captures the hosts.”
Alison and Steve’s romantic wedding was held at the Spice Factory in Hamilton, and perfectly planned by Shaw Events. Exposed brick, and twinkle lights created a warm romantic feel, and French inspired tables with fresh blush flowers in aged gold vases were the centrepieces.
Mikylah and Kyle’s romantic day took place at Kurtz Orchards in Niagara-on-the-Lake with family and friends, and no detail was left untouched. The couple’s playful personalities were evident throughout the day, from the cheeky signage to the whimsical vibes; love and romantic energy enveloped guests from beginning to end.
“I have a love for love. A passion to capture the purest of emotions. And a drive to craft your story into a fine art wedding film. It's not just your wedding that's recorded, it's your unique love story that's skillfully stitched into a film. Your love story that's shown to the world in a unique and very customized way to who you are.”
"A beautiful autumn wedding at Kurtz Orchards from Nikki Mills Photography and Shaw Events. As seen last week on Gusto's 'Where to I Do?' - Canada's newest reality show about finding the perfect wedding venue, Sarah and Dave's intimate celebration in Niagara on the Lake proved to be a day that would impress their guests from beginning to end. Sarah and Dave had the perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony - set in front of Gracewood's Tulip Tree." - Danielle Shaw, Shaw Events
“Provide unique, original and meaningful wedding ceremonies every time! The wedding ceremony sets the tone for the whole day, it is the beginning of your journey together and the only thing you actually need to get married - sure the other elements are important too, flowers, food, and drink- you want your guests to have the most amazing experience with you, we can help you achieve that!”
With Dundurn Castle as the backdrop to this stunning bridal photo shoot, we can’t help but feel like we’ve been transported into a fairytale. Dreamy details nicely complement the modern twist, as the bride, in her stunning empire wedding dress, awaits her beloved for the start of their own happily ever after.
"On the day of this shoot, the most amazing fog rolled in and provided an atmosphere that one usually only dreams of for a styled shoot. It was too perfect for this moody and rugged, yet enchanting and romantic shoot on a private beach in Port Dalhousie. The main tablescape and cake display were rustic, full of weathered woods, teamed up with brass accents and subtle shades of blue that tied in with the natural landscape, the shoreline of Lake Ontario. The candlelight, sheer linens and floral palette softened the look, and paired perfect with the ethereal ballgown and vintage inspired accessories for our bride."
